2013 Sewing Retreat

Following the success of the sewing retreat held at High Leigh Christian Conference Centre in April 2013, the same venue has been reserved for 2014 and members are already signing up to take part.

High Leigh Christian Conference Centre (near Hoddesdon) was booked for the first time in 2013 in place of the previous venue, Belstead in Suffolk, which was no longer available.

As well as being lots of fun and a chance to socialise, there was of course lots of sewing to be done as you can see in the photos below.

My Mini and I in front, closely followed by Maureen with Ann-Marie her passenger. Apart from the wet weather we arrived in good time,, 3.30 pm. Jill was all ready for us in the Willow Room with the keys to our rooms. We unpacked, had a cuppa and got stuck in to our sewing.

Christmas Lunch 2012

Fifteen members celebrated in style with Christmas lunch at the Green Man, Stanford on 8th December. The food was excellent value for money. If what we had was the pensioner portion, I dread to think how big the normal serving would be!

Unfortunately, the weather got the better of us on our last meeting in December and only a few brave souls managed to make it to the club for mulled wine and mince pies.
