Langford Exhibition of Flowers and Quilts - 23 June 2012

The Log Cabin Quilters held an Exhibition of Quilts and Flowers at St Andrews Church, Langford with an ispiring display of beautiful hand and machine crafted quilts made by our members.

A variety of quilting syles were on display including Dear Jane and Log Cabin, and demonstrated a range of quilting tecniques, all completed to a high standard.

Adding to the visitors' experience, a number of the quilts were displayed with a description of the style and technique together with the historical story behind the quilt designs, as well as an account of the makers own personal experience of their challenges and achievements over the many hours spent on their craft.

The exhibition also featured a display of 29 Linus Quilts for children, which have been made by members of the group and will now be donated to childrens wards in local hospitals, as well as a display of quilts to be donated to military hospitals for injured service men and women. We hope these will brighten the patients' days and speed their recoveries!

Also on display were a number of smaller 'sample' or 'challenge' quilts

The many quilts displayed throughout the church brought a joyful and colourful vibrance and together with the wonderful floral displays, background music and the beautiful church setting, it really was a special place to be.
