Quilts for Injured Servicemen (Q4IS)

The Log Cabin Quilters are also very proud to be able to support Quilts For Injured Servicemen by making and donating quilts to military hospitals for injured service men and women. We hope these will brighten the patients' days and speed their recoveries.

As of January 2013 the total number of quilts donated to the cause is over 1300 made by individuals and groups all over the country. To find out more about this cause and how to support them, please visit their website www.q4is.co.uk

Quilts for Injured Servicemen (Q4IS) May 2013

At the end of May I was able to meet up with Brenda Lincoln, Q4IS co-ordinator, and hand over the
latest batch of 10 quilts to her. That makes a total of 43 quilts that we have made for the guys so
thank you all for your help. The photos are some of the quilts that went and you can see the rest on
the notice board. I will be working on some more this summer as I would dearly love to get to a total
of 50!

Quilts for Injured Soldiers (Q4IS) Sewing Day October 2012

This was another very successful sewing day thanks to Jill Lewis who had prepared all the packs ready for us to sit and sew. There were eight of us in total. Maureen, Pip, Margaret H, Val B, June, Christine and Irene were the sewers and Jane was kept very busy with the iron and refreshments. Hope she didn’t have to go home to a pile of ironing afterwards. Overseeing the whole day was our taskmaster Jill Lewis.

Q4IS Feedback 2013

"Dear Jill & Log Cabin Quilters,
Many thanks to everyone for the wonderful quilts, they are brilliant. Yesterday we were in touch with Catterick and your quilts will be going up to the new recovery centre there, the week after next.
Oddly we also heard from Colchester yesterday and they were so complimentary about the quilts which grace all of their beds - wasn't that good to hear - another pat on the back to you all.
Again, we are very grateful to you all.
Best wishes, Brenda"
